Today, I got back on the horse

Julie, Marla, Krista and I rode the 28 mile CRW route out of Nahanton Park into Dover this morning.

This morning, still in bed, I really didn't want to ride my bike. THAT was not the usual course of business for me. I love riding my bike. I chalked it up to not riding in 16 days -- two weeks and two days (I can do that math, folks) and thinking that it was going to be an awful ride.

Upon arrival at the park, I felt like I was starting from scratch again. I knew it would be temporary. However, I had trouble just getting from the parking lot to the street. Once I took the right onto the street, though, I felt better. Still, I figured the ride would be tough when I thought about how the swim two days earlier felt.

It took me a while to feel like I "kicked in". Like one hour and 23 minutes, to be exact. That's what my computer said when I felt good riding-- 1:23. Despite this, I had a good time, enjoyed riding my bike, and felt like I was glad I got out of bed and onto my bike.

I plan to ride five loops of the Sharon course tomorrow. I need to. I don't know how 3:10 will fare on Sunday morning--I mean, I don't want to say I can't do it, but....I might go as far to say it's a long shot. Riding ~50 miles tomorrow, however, is a necessity. I'm ready to do it, even if I do it by myself.
